The Book of Mirrors [October 2011]
OUTabout presented the debut of Katie Bainbridge, performing works from her last two books. The evening was well attended by the LGBT community and also the wider community too; with many coming to see a performance poet for the first time.
What the audience said:
'Thought provoking, well performed'
'Poetry is not really my thing, but I could identify with much that Katie said'
'Very powerful!'
Variety! [August 2011]
Our show Variety! After Pride Event was an evening of song with the Mistress of Song; La Lady Sam, with Hannah Johnson and also featured our fabulous burlesque waiters.
This was a benefit evening for Kernow Positive Support and the OUTabout future show fund.
Variety! [Golowan 2011]
OUTabout produced this show as part of the Golowan Arts Festival ... It was a huge success, thanks to all performers, crew, DJ Harry and the Arts Club for making it so. The night was a range of music, song and dance for all tastes, followed by DJ music and time to party. A total of £249.96 was raised for Kernow Positive Support. We hope to post some show photos on this page soon.
EXTRAVAGANT EASTER REVIEW [Easter 2010]
Here is what the Cornishman had to say about our show:
Also essential was being entertained at OUTabout's outrageous benefit cabaret on Sunday. Held at Penzance Arts Club, Miss Amy Arthouse was the hostess with the mostest for the evening, with all monies raised going to Kernow Positive Support.
If burlesque waitresses serving complimentary vodka jellies weren't enough to wet your whistle, there were stories, music, song and dance to 'pop your cork' too. Dame Shirley made a special appearance, and Azran's All That Jazz routine had everyone thinking 'are those legs for real?' An extremely sophisticated classy show, for an extremely worthy cause: congratulations to all the performers and the producers – you rock.
